Hi all, Before you guys had ED, did you guys notice any difference in the firmness of your erection in different sex positions? If so, which position tends to give the best firmness and which position the worst?
Thanks

While I am not a doctor I had no choice but to learn as much as I could. Local doctors offer limited diagnosis and limited treatments – that in iteself is a long story. ED, impotence, sexual dysfunction, etc describe different things but the important thing is that sexual function is extremely complex. Erections are only one part – and as many of you know it’s not like you get one or you don’t. From what I’ve read and doctors have told me a patient with ED often has some capability for erection – can often get one but can’t sustain it for intercourse. One definition of ED goes like this “incapable of penetration more than 1/3 of the time.” I am not poking fun at the definition – the point is that your partner can impact things a great deal. If she is excited and easy to penetrate then less stiffness is still sufficient. If she is not quite so easy then the same stiffness won’t do. So imagine trying to decide where the borderline of ED is. All I’ve touched on here is one small part of the process.
In my case an erection can pop up when I stand up and go down when I lay down. Guess what – my blood pressure is lower laying down and higher standing up – both ok as along as I take meds.
Doctors arent sure of why.
I see some good ideas on the responses but hope that everyone realizes that even the folks who know this stuff well can often have trouble pinpointing a cause – or finding the best treatment .
FYI – check Institute for Sexual Medicine at Boston University Medical Center. The website is helpful but folks there are tops in their field.
Modern electronic devices provide a nice lesson. When a calculator battery starts to run down the calculator does all sorts of weird things at first. If the battery dies completely everything quits and the problem is obvious. With sexual function it can be the same and trying to make complete sense of some situations by precisely observing or measuring when the battery is just a little low, so to speak, can be maddening. I am sure that other illnesses are similar.
Pardon the babble – just wanted to share.
